Wedding Paintings

These stunning wedding paintings go so much further than just a portrait of the happy couple. Features of your Big Day are incorporated within the main composition, down the sides of the box-style canvases, or in the design of the frame. Some 3D additions embellish the theme or décor details – real lace on the bride’s dress, diamante earrings, gold leaf rings, for example. Your painting will be a memory of your whole Day, not just a moment of it.

To achieve this unique individuality I photograph aspects of the ceremony and reception – the service, colour-scheme, bridal wear, cake, table décor, flowers, favours etc. then piece together a beautiful composition centred around the Bride and Groom.
This New Zealand wedding was blessed by the unscheduled appearance of a beautiful rainbow above the beach setting. The bare-footed bridal party looked stunning within the black and white photo theme. Lace, and daisy flowers, abounded too.

Embellishments:  Real lace was added to the Bride’s dress and daisies were sculpted in impasto oil paint. Lace daisies also lined part of the canvas sides, along with a red satin bow and yellow ‘table cloth’ patch – featured decorations at the church and reception venues. The photo-strip favours, complete with date of the event, appear on the canvas edge and real gold leaf floats from the ‘end of the rainbow’ to spangle round the feet of the happy couple.
This very sunny celebration with vintage theme took place in a spectacular sub-tropical garden in New Zealand. A large cross stood as a focal point marking the altar, with communion bread and wine an important part of the ceremony.

Vintage items graced the garden and reception venues including an old typewriter upon which the guests could type well-wishes to the Bride and Groom.

Embellishments:  Replica vintage typewriter keys spell out the date of N&C’s wedding, real diamante stones twinkle along Charlotte’s earrings and Nathan’s ring glints in real gold leaf.

Reuben and Rachel’s Wedding
... and the Groom said:
"When Rachel and I first saw our wedding portrait we were speechless. Pictures don't do the feelings brought across through the painting justice. The way Virginia was able to bring together different aspects of our day so creatively has culminated into something far more beautiful than I feel a blown up photograph could. We are very honoured to have this hanging on our wall and I know that Rachel loves pointing out the details to admirers who come to our house. As a couple, we would absolutely recommend getting pieces of your special day immortalised through the exceptional talent that is Virginia Mull Portraits."
